Mayor Erbie Fabian yesterday congratulated the city''s barangay tanods on the occasion of their graduation for the Skills Enhancement Training Seminar held at the Enriquez Sports Complex.

Fabian said tanods are potent agents of peace and order in the neighborhood.

Education Regional Director Ibrahim Albar led DepEd officials and Zamboanga City delegates in the opening program of the Regional Meet held in Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur last Sunday April 25.

In his message, Albar urged the sports officials and participants to work hard and play fairly in the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Vice President Teofisto Guingona has endorsed his nephew council aspirant Nonong Guingona.

Vice president Guingona said his nephew is an active and good leader who has the humility and sense of public service.

The different groups supporting KNP presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr. met with Conrad Poe, brother and personal campaign manager of FPJ last Tuesday night at the Astoria Hotel for consultation meeting particularly on the forthcoming visit of FPJ to the city.

Mohammadnur “Nung” Ajihil, FPJPM Deputy Vice President for Media Affairs, said they asked for the meeting with Conred Poe as the latter arrived from Jolo after coordinating with FPJ supporters thereat on the sortie of FPJ and party.

Terrorism has many faces. It comes in various forms and most commonly, terrorists like the communists, in their ultimate aim to bring a country down and rule over it uses force, violence and intimidation for ideological and political gains. That is why, Al Queda, the Abu Sayyafs and NPAs are considered terrorists because of the very nature they kill to attain their goal.

Like the ones mentioned, there is another kind of terrorism who are disguising themselves in the form of political fronts of the communists group. These are leftist groups: BAYAN, ANAK PAWIS, GABRIELA, MIGRANTE, ANAK NG BAYAN and SUARA BANGSAMORO PEOPLE’S PARTY. Actually, some of them like Satur Ocampo of the BAYAN MUNA, Crispin Beltran and Liza Maza have managed to enter the Halls of Congress as party list during the previous elections.
