By IP we mean Indigenous Peoples and ICC stands for Indigenous Cultural Communities. This is the focal point and subject of the law otherwise known as Republic Act No. 8375, also known as the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act of 1997 (IPRA). What is this law all about? It is an Act to Recognize, Protect and Promote the Rights of Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC), Indigenous Peoples (IP), Creating a National Commission On Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Establishing Implementing Mechanism, Appropriating Funds Therefor, and for Other Purposes.
