The newly inaugurated project costs P2 million coming from the Priority Development Allocation Fund of  Rep. Climaco who has been inaugurating infrastructure projects this month successively.

A security guard was beaten to death by unidentified men in Talon-Talon Loop last Sunday night.
The fatality,Pablito Dicno, sustained injuries in the head and back of the body.
A police report disclosed that Dicno’s body was found along road near JS Morte Videoke bar around 10 p.m.

City Health Officer Rodel Agbulos yesterday directed the new Environmental, Health and Sanitation Division (EHSD) head Dr. Kibtiya Uddin to immediately gather all sanitary inspectors and make a round of surprise inspectionsof the different establishments in the city, particularly restaurants and food courts, to make sure that everybody is obeying the law on sanitation.
Dr. Uddin has been officially designated as EHSD chief after its former head Dr. Rick Angeles resigned.

This was the straightforward response of Vice Mayor Mannix Dalipe to Mayor Celso L. Lobregat and some of his men for accusing the vice mayor as “nuisance and counter-productive” in the affairs and service of the city government.
Dalipe said it is his conviction that all his unsolicited proposals and recommendations to the city government were made based on facts, consultations with the people, and above all motivated by good faith with the sole purpose of trying to help make Zamboanga City a much better place to live in.

In pursuit of her thrust on health programs, District I Congresswoman Beng Climaco yesterday unveiled the newly-rehabilitated Labuan Health center in the west coast.
Costing P1 million, the refurbished health center, was one of the priorities in the list of projects to be implemented in Climaco’s district based on consultations with the barangay officials in the area. The funding is taken from the congresswoman’s priority development fund.

Operatives of the Curuan Police Station arrested six fishermen who were caught fishing using fine mesh off Lawingan Island, Labuan, this city last Tuesday morning.
Arrested were Joey Gumabang, pumpboat operator, Jok-Jok Panilanan, 17, Roel Suazo, Rommel Castillo, 30, Wilson Evangelista, 35 and Danilo Alcalam, all residents of Barangay Bolong.
Policemen were on a seaborne patrol around 8 a.m., when they spotted a pumpboat named “Alexia” with the six fishermen aboard and fishing with a fine mesh.
Immediately, the policemen approached the the fishermen’s boat and arrested them.

Mayor Celso Lobregat yesterday afternoon distributed cash assistance to families who had been rendered homeless by separate fire incidents and strong winds in different parts of the city.
Assisted by City Social Welfare and Development Officer Francisco Barredo, Lobregat gave P5,000 each to five owners of totally damaged houses and P3,000 each to six house sharers.
