Mayor Celso Lobregat Thursday night led city government officials in paying tribute to Rear Admiral Alexander Pama, outgoing commandant of the Naval Forces Western Mindanao Command in a testimonial dinner attended by representatives from different sectors of the city.
The investigating police team has identified three suspected planners of the August 5, 2010 Zamboanga International Airport bombing, aimed at allegedly assassinating Gov. Sakur Tan, where two individuals died and leaving several people wounded.
Regional Police Director PCSupt. Edwin Corvera reported that: On September 2, 2010, based on the testimonies given by witnesses, Ex-Congressman ABDULMUNIR ARBISON Luuk Sulu, Ex- Mayor AHMAD NANOH @ ILLOK of Pangutaran Sulu, EX- MAYOR NAJIB MALDISA of Maimbung Sulu, Hadji Maulana Omar of Sta. Catalina, Zamboanga City, Jojo Adam, Munir Alih, and Munir Hadjirul were included on the charge sheet docketed under IS# IX-06-INV-10H-00384 for Multiple Attempted Murder, Multiple Frustrated Murder, and Violation of RA 9516.

The city government is now undertaking preparations for the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2010, as it hopes to ensure the conduct of an all-encompassing and complete festival in honor of Nuestra Senora La Virgen del Pilar, the city’s most revered patron saint.

Task Force ZIA (Zamboanga International Airport) yesterday pointed to a former congressman and two ex-mayors of Sulu as allegedly behind the August 5, 2010 bombing at the arrival area of the local airport that killed two people and injured 25 others including Sulu Gov. Sakur Tan.
