Barangay Culianan is the recipient of the latest batch of infrastructure projects implemented by the city government in line with the 17 point agenda in a social contract that the administration of Mayor Celso Lobregat vowed to pursue.
Mayor Celso Lobregat led in the inauguration and turn over of a beautifully designed barangay hall worth P3.8 million and road concreting project worth P970,000 to Culianan barangay officials headed by chairman Anastacio Limen.
District 2 Cong. Erbie Fabian and east coast Councilors Lilia Nuno, Rey Candido, Eddie Saavedra and Nonong Guingona and Council aspirants Ller Natividad, Percival Ramos, Mike Alavar and VP Elago assisted Mayor Lobregat during the turn over ceremonies.
The total P4.6 million worth of projects unveiled yesterday formed part of the over P43 million infrastructure projects that the Lobregat administration implemented for barangay Culianan from 2007-2009.
The projects during the 3-year period included school buildings, road concreting, irrigation canals, hanging bridge, shore protection and riprapping. Ongoing at present are the construction of two buildings?one for male children in conflict with the law (CICL) and another one for female CICL, just adjacent to the imposing barangay hall.
Mayor Lobregat said on the pipe line are the rehabilitation of the Culianan police sub-station, located inside the newly-constructed barangay hall compound and the construction of a 2-storey 8 classroom building for the Culianan National High School.
The 2-storey barangay hall unveiled yesterday bears the new design appreciated by the barangay folks and which Mayor Lobregat dubbed as ?tatak Lobregat?. A similarly designed building was inaugurated in Recodo last week and soon, similar buildings will be unveiled in Upper Calarian, Talon-talon and Latuan.
Observers say the beautifully designed barangay halls are equivalent to municipal halls in the provinces in Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, the Culianan barangay Council headed by Limen has expressed all out appreciation to Mayor Celso Lobregat and the city government for allocating funds for the construction of the barangay hall and for the other projects that benefit the constituents in the area.
In a resolution, authored by Kagawad Gilbert Alvarez, the Culianan barangay Council also praised Mayor Lobregat for continuously looking into the welfare of the barangays.
Limen said Lobregat truly deserve the people?s continuous support to ensure the continuation and completion of all his plans and programs for the barangays and the people of Zamboanga.
Also present during the turn over ceremonies yesterday were Zamcelco general manager Reynerio Ramos, Culianan National High School principal Luchi Rimando, barangay kagawads and residents and chairmen of the nearby barangays.
