Mayor Celso Lobregat?s ?Team Colorao? will parade city streets today in a bid to drumbeat support to the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino-Adelante Zamboanga, the tried and tested (probao y aprobao) team, ending the 45 day campaign period.
Hundreds of vehicles are expected to join the convoy that will kick off at 7a.m. at the Pasonanca park and will traverse through the different streets leading to the east coast and later to the west coast of the city.
On Thursday, May 6, Celso?s team culminated barangay rallies with a very well-attended sortie in Maasin. Multitude of people flocked to the rally site to show their appreciation and support to Mayor Lobregat and his administration.
?Performance and accomplishments truly mark the Lobregat administration?, Maasin barangay chair Misael ?Doglo? Bernardo said. ?The victory of Mayor Lobregat, his vice mayoralty bet Cesar Iturralde and Congressional candidates Beng Climaco (District I) and Erbie Fabian (District II) and the council aspirants from both districts would mean continuous progress and development for Zamboanga?.
The series of barangay rallies were most of the time jampacked, as barangay officials and residents of other barangays also attended the political parties on their own volition.
After the motorcade today, the Team Colorao will proceed to the Fort Pilar where a holy mass will be held.
Later tonight, the grand meeting de avance is set where Mayor Lobregat and his candidates will present their platforms of government as well as final appeal for support from the public.
Yesterday, Friday, the Adelante Zamboanga party sponsored an extravaganza galore at the Plaza Pershing to entertain the public.
Meanwhile, Mayor Lobregat expressed gratitude to all the residents specifically Team Colorao?s supporters for receiving him and his team warmly during the house to house sorties and nightly rallies.
To translate the expression of support into votes, the mayor said people should go out and exercise their rights to vote on Monday using the automated system.
On the other hand, the chief executive lamented that the opposition is using all forms of dirty tactics out of desperation to win in the election on Monday.
Take the case of the grant of the permit for the grand rally and the motorcade, he said, which is being used as an issue to attack him.
