In his message during separate turn over ceremonies, Mayor Lobregat said
the city government is able to fund many projects for the barangays
because of sound and stable fiscal management. “We have started this
during our second term after we have laid the foundations for sound
fiscal management in our first term. We will continue to do this during
our third term”.
In Maasin, the mayor likewise thanked the people especially barangay
chairman Misael “Doglo” Bernardo for the support and confidence given to
him and his party mates in the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP)
during the May 10 elections.
In response, Bernardo hailed the Lobregat administration for its
commitment to assist and support the barangays in an effort to
accelerate the delivery of basic services to the people.
“We are grateful to Mayor Lobregat for all the infrastructure projects
he has approved and implemented in our barangay. We likewise express
appreciation to the city councilors who gave projects to the barangay
through their countryside development funds (CDF). It is only this
Maasin Barangay administration has received various infrastructure
projects worth millions of pesos within a period of only 3 years, so we
thank Mayor Lobregat next to God Almighty”, chairman Bernardo stated.
The drainage system in Maasin was partly funded by the 2009 CDF of
Councilor Luis Biel III and former Councilor Charlie Mariano; the
rehabilitation of the waiting shed was funded by the 2009 CDF of
Councilor Joefel de las Penas while the construction of the comfort room
was funded by the 2009 CDF of Councilor Jaime Cabato.
Joining the mayor in inaugurating the projects in the two barangays were
Councilors Biel, Rudy Lim, Nonong Guingona, de las Penas and Rogelio
Valesco Jr.; City Engineer Luis Despalo including education officials.
In Sinunuc, chairman Gonzalo Garcia said the series of projects being
implemented and subsequently unveiled by the city government is proof
that Mayor Lobregat treats all barangays fairly and equally.
Despite
the mayor’s defeat in Sinunuc last May 10, the barangay has been
recipient of numerous projects over the last 3 years and more are still
coming such as the construction of a 2-storey 8 classroom building for
the Sinunuc Elementary School and several other facilities for the
Sinunuc National High School.
Just last June 15, the mayor turned over 3 projects that included school
buildings and a drainage system all worth P5.5 M at the Sinunuc
Elementary School.
“Ta rindi gayot kame gracias con Mayor Lobregat y maga miembro del
Consejo Local kay maskin ya perde ele aki na di amon barangay del
eleccion, ta continua le dale su suporta y asistencia para el buen estar
del maga constituente del Sinunuc”, Garcia declared. (Sheila
