An employee of a lending company was shot and robbed of his daily collection by two gunmen at Sitio Sinoropan, Licomo last week.
Police identified the victim as Jovil Suminog y Quorante, 24, married, community and enterprise development officer of the People’s Micro Finance Cooperative and a resident of Villa Sta. Maria.
Suminog was driving an XRM motorcycle on his way to Licomo proper around 2 p.m. when gunmen appeared and shot him.
Police said that when Suminog fell on the ground, the gunmen approached and seized hisdaily collection.
The victim was rushed to the Vitali Lying-in Clinic and was later transferred to the Zamboanga Doctors Hospital for further treatment.
Police theorized that the gunmen waited for Suminog’s arrival as it was his daily routine in collecting dues from clients.
The Vitali police were still exerting efforts to identify and arrest the holduppers.
