A man was killed while three others were injured in two separate road accidents in Barangay La Paz and Culianan last Monday and Sunday.
Killed was Hernandito Flores, Jr., 30, married, of Tulungatung. Injured were Ricardo Botio, 28, of Ayala, Laurence Manalo and Gilbert Faustino, both of Curuan.
A police report disclosed that Flores was driving a motorcycle with Botio as backrider negotiating the La Paz road around 1 p.m. when he lost control of the steering bar after the motorcycle experienced engine trouble and the foot brake failed, while the motorcycle was running on high speed.
Police said the motorcycle rammed the north lane of the Lobregat highway and Flores and Botio were thrown off the motorcycle due to the strong impact.
Flores’ head hit a hard object and died on the spot while Botio was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.
Manalo and his cousin Faustino were riding tandem on a motorcycle traveling east around 10 p.m. last Sunday when the accident happened.
Police said the motorcycle crashed on the slippery road throwing them off.
Manalo and Faustino sustained injuries in the body and were taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center.
