The outgoing chief of the Naval Forces Western Mindanao, Rear Admiral Alexander Pama, set up a get-together party at the Officer's Club inside the camp for what he considers friends in media and expressed his gratitude for the support they gave during his term as head of the navy in this part of the country.
In a less than 10 minute-speech, the navy chief spoke of the big role the local media has played in curving public awareness in his 24-month stint of accomplishing his mission. "The Zamboanga Press Club, especially those who were working with us, had been one of the most helpful, cooperative, and friendly media people that I have encountered all over the Philippines," he quipped.
The outgoing chief also introduced BGen Eugenio N. Clemen AFP as the Incoming Acting Commander, NFWM.
According to the operations officer Dario Yanto, NFWM, the incoming officer will temporarily act as the navy chief until the new one is assigned and installed.
Meanwhile, Zamboanga Press Club officer Teodyver Arquiza rendered a song before we finally left.
