An English man sent his girlfriend to jail on Saturday morning after he discovered that his cash and other valuables worth P300,000 in Ermita, Manila were missing.
Paul Fitzgerald, a native of England, accused Maricel Fuentes, 29, of Mabini St., Ermita, Manila, stole his cash and valuables.
“I will surely file a case against her,” the foreigner told reporters.
Fuentes was placed under the custody of the Manila Police District –General Assignment Section (MPD-GAS).
Fuentes was earlier detained at the Manila Police District –Station 5 (Ermita) after she reportedly went wild while under the influence of liquor.
Fitzgerald said his Filipina girlfriend posted bail for such offense and brought her home.
He left the house for awhile, leaving his girlfriend in the house. However, when he returned home, he found out that his money and other valuables were missing, prompting him to locate Fuentes.
The drunken Fuentes was later found in Quiapo, Manila who was still getting wild in the area. This prompted the foreigner to bring again Fuentes to the police station.
Fitzgerald admitted that his lover was already alcoholic and frequently using illegal drugs as her state of mind was already affected.
The victim also said that he maintained his relationship with Fuentes for at least three years as he gave her P40,000 monthly for her own expenses.
At the police station, the suspect denied the allegation as she pointed to a certain “Kim” who allegedly took her boyfriend’s bag containing cash, laptop, passport and other valuables.
Police are now preparing a qualified theft case against Fuentes.
