Eleven officers of the Highway Patrol Group-9 have received a letter of commendation from their chief for good performance in their task and mission in enforcing Republic Act 6539 otherwise known as the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972 and Republic Act 4136, the law on anti-highway robbery and anti-highjacking and other traffic laws.
Commended were Inspector Leopoldo A. Macalindol, Provincial Chief of Zamboanga del Norte HPG-9 Unit based in Dipolog City, SPO3 Alson Aripin, SPO2 Elmer S. Jaugin, SPO2 Vincent Parame, SPO3 Eddie G. Lim, PO2 Al-Hari Aripin, PO2 Bobby Solis, PO2 Gether P. Abo-Abo, PO1 Liborio A. Velasco III, PO1 Janryl Niño P. Limocon and PO1 Ronald B. Aldojesa.
The ceremony for the distribution of the letter of commendation was held during a command conference in the municipality of Tukuran Zamboanga del Sur last September 4, 2010 presided by HPG-9 Chief Sr. Supt. Romeo R. Uy.
During the command conference, Sr. Supt. Uy reminded his officers to work as a team and help each other for the good of the command.
Uy said in the conduct of operations, HPG officers should use their human and public relation skill with utmost respect to the motorists.
“Be extra careful and vigilant as your lives are at risk and in danger while conducting operations,” Uy cautioned his officers and operatives.
Uy likewise advised his men in the region to check all motorcycles in their areas of responsibility because motorcycles can be easily carnapped and sold by lawbreakers in farflung areas where the presence of law enforcers is limited.
The HPG-9 chief also directed his men to coordinate with the Department of Public Works and Highways where areas in the region are accidental front.
Meanwhile, HPG-9 operatives and the Auxialiary Group in Zamboanga del Sur donated 12 bags of blood (equivalent to 6,000 cc ) to the Philippine National Red Cross Zamboanga del Sur Chapter during a blood letting activity.
Uy expressed gratitude to the Auxialiary Group of Zamboanga del Sur for extending help to his command for the good of each community in the region.
He told them to advise their neighbors in buying motorcycles to check it with HPG so that they will not be cheated and their money will not go to waste.
