The 9th Regional Public Safety Battalion has deployed 84 police troopers with three officers in Zamboanga City as security augmentation to the City Police Office.

9th RPSB Director Supt. Joselito R. Gallano disclosed that the 84 police troopers were distributed to the different strategic areas in the city — Fifty of the troopers with two officers were sent to Barangay Mampang and Talon-Talon. The rest were divided into two groups. First group was assigned at the Zamboanga International Airport as support to the Aviation Security Group- 9. The second will be augmentation force for the City Mobile under Supt. Joemari Albarico.

Supt. Gallano said his command has established four action centers in Talon-Talon and Mampang which are easy accessible to the people in the two barangays. All the four actions centers are 24 hours ready to answer any call and go into action.

“They are to serve the community, help the people for their safety and security,” Gallano said.

According to Gallano, all the 84 police troopers were under the operation and control of the city police.

Meanwhile, Gallano reminded his men that the celebration of the Hariraya is fast approaching. He directed them to be extra alert and vigilant “because there are still people who are hardheaded and celebrate the occasion by firing their guns.’

He said that illegal firing of gun is dangerous and harmful to life.
