Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (Zamcelco) General Manager yesterday clarified that cost adjustments of the so-called ancillary services charged earlier by NGCP to all its Mindanao customers, including local memeber - consumers, have already been effected since the month of July contrary to the press statement of Pocholo Soliven, president of the Zamboanga City Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
That's why if only they took note so well, there's this impact already in our (declined) monthly billings starting the month of July 2010, and this is the very equivalent of our own sought refund, for your information, "Ramos said.
Ramos was reacting to Soliven's statement requesting Zamcelco to explain to its member - consumers why there's this delay in the issuing of credit memos and applying the same to the member - consumers' previous monthly electric consumption billings.
The billings of the previously added acillary costs have been duly depleted and reflected in their April 2010 and May 2010 billings during which the ancillary costs were surprisingly padded on that sparked hollers and loud protests from the member - consumers, Mindanao-wide for having suddenly skyrocketed its power costs, Ramos said.
He likewise said that Zamcelco came up with press releases published in all local papers dated July 9, "precisely to update our member consumers on the very same issue."
The ERC Refund Order even elated Zamcelco who jointly filed with all AMRECO (Association of Mindanao Rural Electric Coops) members its initial petition with ERC - seeking for a thorough review of NGCP's ancillary (dispatchable) reserve billings when it received the latter's power hike notice.
Concurring with Zamcelco's petition move was the City Council that passed a strongly - worded resolution against such increase, urging ERC to do the same.
Upon the issuance of the ERC refund order last June, Zamcelco acted with dispatch in informing and disseminating the good news to all its member consumer's, Ramos said.
"With all modesty on our part, we have been always up to date in getting in touch with our own member consumers by immediately coming up with press releases to all our media outlets here," he stressed.
