Now, that bully I apprehended last month can freely shoot me to death without any counterstrike from me. Poor guard I am. I should give in to many bullies coming in and out of my jurisdiction or else they will lay wait on me along the street. haii (sigh mode)

I don't think this is a good idea on a strict implementation of gun ban, the security guys are one of the good guys, it's those criminals that hide their guns that they should be after. Barangay elections historically does not carry the same weight as the local and national election like the one last May and should not be treated the same way. Although I support gun bun on a limited basis during this barangay election -like no guns should be allowed in videoke bars and nightclubs, areas of high security such as large gatherings, etc.. but, there should be some exceptions made, like these security guard or people with high security risk should also be allowed to carry gun for protection. This law is made to show that the politicians are serious in dealing with violence, if only to convince themselves that they are doing a good job.
The ARMM region registered thousands of loose firearms during the gun amnesty program but hundreds of thousands more did not register their guns, THEY ARE STILL OUT THERE. There is no amount of law that could STOP unregistered gun owners if they suddenly decide to go at war during an election. I there is to be a strict implementation of gun ban, it should be next year's ARMM election as I'm sure it would be a different story.
