Five delegates from the Dipolog City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) have participated in the 19th Mindanao Business Conference (MINBIZCON) in Cagayan de Oro City recently.
The group was headed by former DCCI president and now Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Vice President for Mindanao Edwin Capili. Joining him were former DCCI president and the current PCCI Regional Governor for Western Mindanao Edgar Bagarinao, DCCI president Michael Malacca, businessman Joel Amatong and DCCI executive officer Judy Ca-ang.
As PCCI vice president for Mindanao, Capili has presided over the conference which was also graced by Vice President Jejomar Binay, US ambassador to Philippines Harry Thomas, Undersecretary Merly M. Cruz of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Undersecretary Joel Rudinas of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and PCCI President Ambassador Francis Chua.
MINBIZCON is a gathering of Mindanao leaders, businessmen, local chief executives, government line agencies and non-government organizations (NGOs).
The participants tackled a number of issues and concerns affecting the island's socio-economic condition and were able to pass 10 resolutions that seek to address the power supply problem, infrastructure, mining, transportation, micro-small-medium enterprises (MSMEs), peace and order, information technology, investment promotion and others.
This year's gathering has for its theme: One global Mindanao maximizing potentials. (DCCI/PIA-ZN)
