PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur — The Science Education Institute of Department of Science and Technology (DOST) extends the deadline for the submission of nominees for the third “Gawad LIDER Award” to Feb. 15.

The award, given every two years is given to individuals and/or groups in order to recognize those who have demonstrated sustained leadership and ability to improve education in the field of science, recognize exemplary scientific and technological innovation to improve education in the sciences and inspire others to become exemplary leaders and/or innovators to improve science education in the sciences.

The Exemplary Leadership Award is conferred to individuals and/or institutions and organizations that have consistently demonstrated leadership qualities leading to improvements in the field of education in the sciences, which have generated nationwide impact.

The Innovation Award is conferred to an individual or institution for the introduction of a technology-based innovation that benefits education in sciences.

The Exemplary Leader Award recipient shall receive P200,000 and a medal while the recipient of the Innovation Award shall receive P100,000 plus a medal.
