On monday, the Philippines was hit by an earthquake with magnitude 6.9 in Negros Oriental and Cebu regions in tectonic origin with two consecutive aftershocks according to PHIVOLCS.
The agency also disseminates information regarding the Tsunami Alert no. 2 and intensity 7 in Dumaguete, Intensity 5 Roxas, Capiz, Iloilo City, intensity 4 Antique, Aklan, Dipolog and intensity 3 CDO.
The President specifically ordered PHIVOLCS to monitor the areas directly and indirectly hit by the earthquake and entering schools and government offices in the Negros Oriental are all suspended because of tsunami alert after the magnitude 6.9 earthquake.
According to data; Negros Oriental, had 6 earthquakes in the past month and 72 earthquakes in the past year.
