ZAMBOANGA CITY The Armed Forces of the Philippine Finance Center (AFPFC) will hold a six-day information caravan next month for pensioners in three major areas here in Zamboanga Peninsula, a military official announced Wednesday.
Lt. Col. Erwin Alea, commander of the 4th Civil Relations Group (CRG), said the information caravan will be conducted by two teams from the AFPFC from July 16 to 21 in Zamboanga City and in the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte.
Alea said the information caravan is in support to the efforts of the AFP Pension and Gratuity Management Center (AFPGMC), which aims to monitor the status of the AFP pensioners and to determine whether the AFPFC has been paying the pensioners with the correct amount of pension and also to determine who are qualified to receive the pension.
The caravan also intends to: verify the status of AFP pensioners latest Pensioners Update Forms (PUF) submitted in year 2005 and those who have not yet submitted their respective PUFs and or Proof of life; distribute July 2012 Monthly Pension Cheques of concerned AFP pensioners; and, information drive about AFP pension to address the pensioners concerns and problems.
Alea said that pensioners based from Zamboanga City, Basilan, Sulu and Zamboanga Sibugay provinces may proceed to the covered court of the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) in Upper Calarian, this city to attend the information caravan.
The pensioners from Zamboanga del Sur may attend the information caravan at the covered court of the First Infantry Division in Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur from July 16 to 18.
The pensioners from the cities of Dipolog, Oroquieta, and Ozamis, and that of Zamboanga del Norte province can go to the Teachers Gym, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte on from July 19 to 21 for the information caravan.
The information caravan in Zamboanga City will be led by Col. Danilo Cortez, the AFPFC executive officer while the teams that will be holding the caravan in Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte will be led by Lt. Col. Jose Mercado, the operation officer of the AFPFC.
The caravan is an effort of the AFPFC to reach out and to bring its service closer to the pensioners here in Mindanao, Alea said.
Likewise, Alea said the activity is in line with the thrust of the AFP which is to cleanse the AFP Pension Payroll.
