COTABATO CITY Actress KC Concepcion, national ambassador against hunger of the World Food Programme (WFP), will lead Wednesday a relief operation in Compostela Valley, one of the two provinces hardest hit by typhoon Pablo.
Accompanying Concepcion is Stephen Anderson, WFP representative and country director - Philippines, in the activity which will commence at 1 p.m. in the Grandstand of Barangay Cabinuangan, New Bataan, Compostela Valley.
In a statement released by WFP, KC Concepcion will also show solidarity with communities whose lives and livelihoods have been highly affected by typhoon Pablo.
She will also express support for Philippine Government-led food relief operations in Barangay Cabinuangan, New Bataan, Compostela Valley that are being conducted jointly with WFP.
Ms. Concepcion will help distribute relief packs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development to those currently staying in the New Bataan Grandstand evacuation center.
This WFP assistance to the Philippine Government is part of the larger United Nations effort to provide immediate lifesaving aid and recovery support for persons who are most affected by typhoon Pablo (Bopha) in the Philippines. (PNA)
