Jolo, Sulu (April 29, 2013) Col. Jose Johriel M. Cenabre PN (M) (GSC) was assigned as the new commander of the 2nd Marine Brigade to the Province of Sulu yesterday April 29, 2013 replacing Brigadier General Orlando E. De Leon who in-turn will become Deputy Commander of Western Mindanao Command subsequent to the retirement of BGEN Eugenio Clemen on April 27, this year.
The symbolic change of command was led by BGen. Romeo T. Tanalgo, AFP
Commandant, Philippine Marine Corps; held at Camp General Teodulfo S.
Bautista, Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu coincidental to the 35th
Activation Year of the said military unit.
In an interview with
Col. Cenabre he said “It’s a great honor to be installed as new
commander here in the highest marine's command in Sulu where all marine
units covered. The 2nd Marine Brigade and the brotherhood of the people
of Sulu influenced me; I was able to make it. I don’t feel stranger here
since I was assigned here before. Even though I can’t speak a single
Tausug, but my heart is in this province.”
One of the highlights
of the program was the presentation of awards as recognition to the
outstanding efforts of selected military men and civilian volunteers who
have greatly contributed to the brigade’s numerous successful missions.
