ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat Two policemen from the Sultan Kudarat police office based here were among the five policemen in Central Mindanao found positive for drug use, a police spokesperson said.
Senior Inspector Benjamin Mauricio Jr, said Police Officers 1 Jennie Barredo and Kadil Masahod, both assigned with the Sultan Kudarat police provincial officer were among the five cops tested positive of drug use.
Also found positive were PO2 Arnold Sua and Po1 Marvin Madrid, both of Gen. Santos City police office and PO3 Alex Dolormente of Koronadal City police office.
Mauricio said the random drug test was part of the PNP cleansing process in an effort to restore peoples confidence on the country's lead law enforcement agency.
Mauricio said the policemen found positive for drug use will be subjected to investigation and hearing and will be given due process.
While the proceedings are still on going, Mauricio said the concerned police officers Sua, Madrid, Barredo, Masahod and Dolormente, have been relieved and were sent to the PNP-12 Personnel Holding Unit in Tambler, Gen. Santos City.
"They are now undergoing Character and Aptitude Development Training (CADET) at PNP-12 headquarters, that is giving them chance to reform," Mauricio said.
