To boost its aim to be the shopping capital of the region, another shopping center will rise in Pagadian City The upcoming shopping center will sit in an area of almost a one hectare located in the heart of Pagdian City at Bonifacio St., Rizal Avenue, Pajares Avenue and Jamisola St. It is a walking distance to Gaisano Capital Mall. Mayor Sammy Co said that Pagadian City rich in agriculture and aqua-products. Its airport runway once completed in either June or July this year will boost economy activities in the city.
The soon-to-be runway can accomodate big airbuses, just like Zamboanga City’s airport runway. Co said that SM Mall and Robinson will soon rise in the city at the diversion road. Pagadian city is promixate to Dipolog City, Oroqueta City, Ozamiz City, Tangub City, Iligan City, Cagayan De Oro City and Cotabato City. Pagadian City First Lady Ilang-Ilang Co disclosed that that city is now developing tourism sites like the Dao-Dao white sand beach. She also said that Illana Bay is good for scuba diving. Zamboanga del Sur Gov. Aurora Cerilles is also fast-tracking the rehabilatition of the former Philippine Australian Development Assistant Program complex which is now the site of the regional center that is overlooking the Illana Bay. On the other hand, Dapitan city, the “Disneyland of the Philippines”, is one of its kind in the country. The Disneyland will open on May 28, 2009. It is pet project of former Congressman Romeo Jalojos. The casino in Dakak Beach Resort operated by Philippine Amusemant Games Corporation was already opened on May 16.
